SYNOPSIS
An intimate and cathartic testimony of a woman that celebrates life after overcoming a life threatening disease.
DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT
Life's Dust is the testimony of a woman who celebrates life after surviving a life-threatening disease. I considered it essential to involve the protagonist in the creation of this work integrating her own narration and voice. She describes a cathartic process which transformed into a grief ritual. This helped her to reconnect with herself, while rediscovering her own creative power despite the loss of her fertility. In the visual proposal, her body is filmed in an intimate and enigmatic sequence shot that revisits with rawness and poetry the traumatic process lived due to the disease. The short-film aims to recreate and share a near-death experience with the audience: a hypnotic and dark journey that concludes in a place infused with magical realism and hope.
